In Ripon, Wisconsin, former members of the Whig Party meet to establish a new party to oppose the spread of slavery into the western territories. The Whig Party, which was formed in 1834 to oppose the “tyranny” of President Andrew Jackson, had shown itself incapable of coping with the national crisis over slavery.
With the successful introduction of the Kansas-Nebraska Bill of 1854, an act that dissolved the terms of the Missouri Compromise and allowed slave or free status to be decided in the territories by popular sovereignty, the Whigs disintegrated. By February 1854, anti-slavery Whigs had begun meeting in the upper midwestern states to discuss the formation of a new party. One such meeting, in Wisconsin on March 20, 1854, is generally remembered as the founding meeting of the Republican Party.
The Republicans rapidly gained supporters in the North, and in 1856 their first presidential candidate, John C. Fremont, won 11 of the 16 Northern states. By 1860, the majority of the Southern slave states were publicly threatening secession if the Republicans won the presidency. In November 1860, Republican Abraham Lincoln was elected president over a divided Democratic Party, and six weeks later South Carolina formally seceded from the Union. Within six more weeks, five other Southern states had followed South Carolina’s lead, and in April 1861 the Civil War began when Confederate shore batteries under General P.G.T. Beauregard opened fire on Fort Sumter in South Carolina’s Charleston Harbor.

The Civil War firmly identified the Republican Party as the party of the victorious North, and after the war the Republican-dominated Congress forced a “Radical Reconstruction” policy on the South, which saw the passage of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments to the Constitution and the granting of equal rights to all Southern citizens. By 1876, the Republican Party had lost control of the South, but it continued to dominate the presidency until the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933.

And Hillary is still thumbing here nose at us "regular" people.

Rush Limbaugh: I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound.... No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000.... The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million....  If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.... Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs..... If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry or die.... And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18.... When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt... Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough....Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time... Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers.... (Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.) We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting....In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well..... You see where this is going, don't you...? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country....It's just really sad....Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise....Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing.... Make sense.? However, our own U.S. Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month.... If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.... I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting...

Are you scratching your head? Why in the world would President Trump allow George Stephanopoulos to hang with him for 30 hours? I have no clue, except to think that President Trump has always been a few steps ahead of the Left, as in always.  Maybe this is all a miss-direction of what our President is doing behind the scene, so do not be surprised when he makes a big announcement in the near future.

One question everyone is talking about, OK "talking" is the wrong word, because the Left is falling all over themselves saying President Trump has struck at the core of our Democracy by his answer. He was asked if a foreign entity contacted you and you were told they had dirt on your opposition, would you inform the FBI?

Why such a question? It seems to be that was exactly what the left did, even worse, as Hillary paid for the Steele dossier from a foreign entity.

Maybe  this was a got-ya question, as Donald Jr was, yet again, being investigated by congress for his meeting that was to promise "damaging material" regarding Hillary. 

If President Trump said he would not inform the FBI, than the ABC anchor would have pounced with a question regarding,  is that why Donald Jr did not inform the FBI of his meeting?

Or, maybe if President Trump responded with "yes he would", the ABC anchor would have said "so what is the problem, that is exactly what the democrats did with the Steele dossier, they did indeed inform the FBI"...

But President said, "Maybe he would do both".  He would listen to what was offered, and than make a decision as to what needed to be done, and if appropriate he would inform the FBI.

However, all the left is focused on is...

What a wonderful lesson this was for me. I do not recall ever being taught
this in school. "The Meaning of the Flag-Draped Coffin!" 

All American's should be given this lesson. Those who think that America is
an arrogant nation, should really reconsider that thought. Our founding
fathers used GOD's word and teachings to establish our Great Nation, & I
think it's high time Americans get reeducated about this Nation's history. 

Please pass it along & be proud of the country we live in, & even more proud
of those who serve to protect our 'GOD-GIVEN' rights & freedoms. I hope you
take the time to read this. To understand what the flag draped coffin really
means. 

Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it & is surrendered to so
many widows and widowers: Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun
salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776? 

Have you ever noticed that the honor guard pays meticulous attention to
correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? 

You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we
learn something new every day! The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.
The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life. The 3rd fold is made
in honor, and remembrance of the veteran's departing the ranks who gave a
portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace
throughout the world. The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as
American citizen's trusting in God, it's to Him we turn in times of peace,
as well as in time of war for His divine guidance. The 5th fold is a tribute
to the country, for in the word's of Stephen Decatur, 'Our Country in
dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it's still our
country, right or wrong.' The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie.
It's with their heart that they pledge allegiance to the flag of the United
States of America, & the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God,
indivisible, with Liberty & Justice for all.

The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed
Forces that they protect their country, and their flag against all her
enemies, whether they be found within, or without the boundaries of their
republic. The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley
of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day. The 9th fold is
a tribute to womanhood, & Mother's. For it has been through their faith,
their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men, and women
who've made this country great has been molded. The 10th fold is a tribute
to the father, for he, too, has given his son's, & daughter's, for the
defense of their country, since they were first born. The 11th fold
represents the lower portion of the seal of King David, and King Solomon,
and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob. The
12th fold represent's an emblem of eternity, and glorifies, in the
Christian's eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. The 13th fold,
or when the flag is completely folded, the star's are uppermost reminding
them, of their Nation's motto, 'In God We Trust.' 

After the flag's completely folded & tucked in, it takes on the appearance
of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General
George Washington, and the Sailor's, and Marine's who served under Captain
John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades & shipmates in the
Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights,
privileges & freedoms they enjoy today. 

There are some traditions & ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In
the future, you will see flags folded, & now you'll know why.

Please share this with the children you love, and all other's who love what
is referred to as the symbol of 'Liberty and Freedom.' 

MAYBE THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD READ THIS EXPLANATION BEFORE THEY RENDER
THEIR DECISION ON THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. FORWARD IT; MAYBE SOMEONE WITH
THE NECESSARY POWER, OR POLITICAL, & FINANCIAL INFLUENCE, WILL GET IT TO
THEM. IN THE MEANTIME, MAY GOD PROTECT US ALWAYS. ONE NATION, UNDER GOD,
WITH LIBERTY, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
